1-year-old boy dies of maltreatment?

LAOAG CITY, Jan. 7–Vincent Paul Domingo sought help from the NBI and police authorities to investigate the untimely death of his one-year-old son, whom he claimed was an alleged victim of maltreatment.

The bereaved father said he wanted the lawmen to conduct an autopsy on the body to know the real cause of his boy’s death.

Domingo alleged that his dying boy was taken to the hospital last Dec. 27, and was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.

He further alleged that his boy had no known sickness, hence, he questioned his sudden death.
In an interview, Domingo told reporters that the boy bore several contusions in the body and below his left ear.

A report said the boy was Domingo’s son with his former live-in partner woman who took custody of the baby when they separated due to personal differences.

The boy’s mother got a new live-in partner whom she entrusted to take care of the baby boy when the latter was only 9-month-old as she goes out to work daily.

Sensing her live-in partner was alluded to as the suspect in the boy’s death, the woman defended him saying in Tagalog that her new partner took care of the boy well despite the baby was not his real son.

She said to be fair to all concerned parties, she welcomed the conduct of autopsy on the boy’s cadaver to know the real truth behind her boy’s death.

It was learned that the boy’s remains were interred this morning of Jan. 7. (D.D./tri-media report)
