PGIN to give livelihood aid to 50 displaced ROFs

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) has created an emergency livelihood and employment program for Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) in this northern province.

Dubbed as “IN na NEGOSYO sa KARITON ni Manong MATT” program, it will initially help 50 qualified recipients to be provided a P2,000 working capital, a business cart or kariton, and an entrepreneurship training.

Provincial Public Employment Service Officer Lizette B. Atuan said the economically displaced ROFs who opted to stay in the province for good may submit their applications to PESO from August 17 to August 21.

Chosen ROF-beneficiaries are required to submit the following requirements: proof of overseas employment, Barangay Certificate of Residency to confirm that the applicant is a resident returning from abroad and a bona ide member of the community, and a duly signed Memorandum of Agreement with the Provincial Government.—(Blessing Angel V.
