Lt. Col. Lero is the new Laoag City police chief

*He vows to continue the government’s drive against prohibited drugs, illegal gambling, and other criminal activities

LAOAG CITY (Aug. 5) — A newly-designated officer-in-charge of the Laoag City Police Office was formally installed in a simple turn-over ceremony held on August 4, 2020, at the city’s police station here.

P/Lt. Col. Rafael D. Lero replaced P/Lt. Col. Amador B. Quiocho, who served as city police chief for a year. He is set to retire next year.

Colonel Lero hails from Binalonan, Pangasinan but has a residence in Baguio City.

He belongs to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 2003.
Prior to his new assignment here, Lero had served in the PNP Special Action Force, in the Mindanao area, Southern Luzon, PRO1, and Ilocos Norte Provincial Police Office’s provincial operation management unit.

The August 4 turnover rite was attended by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, City Mayor Michael Marcos Keon, Provincial Director P/Col. Christopher N. Abrahano, and other local PNP members.

In his acceptance speech, Lero vowed to continue the ongoing government’s campaign against prohibited drugs, illegal gambling, and other criminal activities.

The new COP expressed gratitude to the provincial and city officials as well as his PNP superiors for choosing him to lead the city police force, assuring them that he is “ready for the new task assigned to him”.

Lt. Col. Quiocho, in his farewell remarks thanked all the people who supported the city police force drive in the overall maintenance of peace and order during his stint in Laoag. (edg & tri-media report)
