CAMP JUAN, Laoag City, Feb. 19, 2020– Police regional director Brig. Gen. Joel Orduña formally installed P/Col. Christopher Nortez Abrahano as the new acting police provincial director of Ilocos Norte during the turnover ceremony held here at Camp Capt. Valentin S. Juan.

Also present at the turnover ceremony were Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc, Vice Gov. Cecilia Araneta-Marcos, and Laoag City Mayor Michael Marcos Keon.

As new PD, Colonel Abrahano replaced P/Col. Cesar Pasiwen who is now reassigned at Calabarzon Region 4-A.

In an ambush media interview, Colonel Abahano said that in line with the message of RD Orduña during his installation, he would continue the PNP programs in the province which were already started and implemented as far as maintenance of peace and order is concerned.

Likewise, his priority in accordance with the PNP national agenda includes a campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, crimes and to conduct internal cleansing among the local PNP personnel, among others.

In order not to fail in achieving this program and goal, he said that he looks forward to the full cooperation of the citizenry as well as the all-out support of the local government units (LGUs) from the provincial down to the city/municipal level.

He cites the cliche that “the community is the police and the police are the community.”

The new PD is a Philippine Military Academy graduate, Batch ‘96.

Prior to his assignment here, Colonel Abrahano served as police chief of Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group regional chief at Region 3 Central Luzon, and intelligence officer at CIDG national office. (JUN R. GUIANG)
