NUEVA ERA, Ilocos Norte, June 17– Kevin Baoit, 6, drowned off Papa Dam located in Brgy. Sto. Nino, this town, village officials reported.
Brgy. Capt. Jondie Bayudan said the boy and his mother joined their relatives at Papa Dam to have hair washing ritual locally called “Aggulgol” for a departed village councilman.
He said the boy probably sneaked from his mother’s care and run into the water.
Rescuers took them about an hour to locate the victim from the cascading water.
They rushed him to the nearby hospital where the victim expired. (tri-media report)
