BADOC, Ilocos Norte, April 20, 2020–At least seven suspected motocross enthusiasts staged an alleged illegal mini-race in the suburbs of this town despite the prevailing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
P/Captain Joseph Tayaban, the town police chief, said the young racers are aged ranging from 16 to 26.
He said they arrested five of them who are residents of this town while the two from nearby Pinili town escaped and were hunted by pursuing police operatives.
Investigators were verifying reports that there were some spectators who watched the race contradicting the ECQ stay-home rules.
A village chieftain said he tried earlier to stop the mini-motocross activities but the suspects ignored him prompting him to call the police. (tri-media report)
