LAOAG CITY, May 5, 2021–A joint team of policemen and government veterinarians apprehended six people who tried to smuggle 13 suspected “hot” live pigs out from the province.
The PVET (provincial veterinary) office here said the hogs, loaded in a truck from nearby Vintar town, were intercepted at Brgy. Pila while en route to an unspecified destination.
Occupants of a car who allegedly escorted the cargo truck were also held for questioning, the PVET told reporters.
It explained that the suspects failed to present any legal permit to transport the hog cargo. (tri-media report)
