To Allocate P130 M for City Hospital Equipment

LAOAG CITY (Oct. 4) – Laoag City Mayor Michael Fariñas reported that an initial P130 million fund will be appropriated by the city government for the purchase of different hospital equipment.

In the recently-concluded budget hearing and consultation meeting among the city officials, they saw the urgent need to appropriate said amount as the city hospital, which is undergoing upgrading and expansion, is expected operate in full swing early next year.

He said that of the total amount, P100 million will be loaned from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) while the rest will be sourced out from the coffer of the city government.

Laoag City councilor Dr. Francis Dacuycuy, chairman on the committee on health, said that the first set of medical equipment to be purchased are hospital beds, operating room lights, X-ray machine with a flouroscopy capability, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patient monitors, post anesthesia care unit and stretchers.
