City Budget for 2011 is P601 M

LAOAG CITY (Oct. 4) – Laoag City Mayor Michael Fariñas disclosed that the proposed budget for the calendar year 2011 is pegged at P601 million.

Fariñas said that there is a significant increase of about P200 million compared from the 2010 budget due to the ongoing upgrading project of the Laoag City General Hospital.

Another factors, he said, include the pending implementation of the Salary Standardization Law and the city government’s compliance with Republic Act No .7305 or the Magna CArta for Public Health Workers.

City Budget Officer Ms. Carlina Cumigad said that the upgraded of the Laoag City General Hospital gets the lion’s share in the amount of P206,990,692.70. It is followed, she said, by City Engineering Office with a budget of 56,651,465.65, and third is the General Service Office, P34,936,927.24. (Edg)
