LAOAG CITY (September 13) – Ilocos Norte Vice Gov. Angelo Marcos Barba has disclosed that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members had asked for a budget allocation for the purchase of computer laptops.
He said that the issuance of laptops to each member of the provincial board has long been overdue saying that it was earlier brought to the attention of the past administration but obviously it was not approved.
The Vice Governor said that having their own laptop will enhance their efficiency and effectiveness as members of the legislative body of the province. “We can immediately access all the past resolutions and ordinances” he said.
He emphasized that much cheaper laptops are now available in the market so that only small budget is needed. He added if the allotted budget will not suffice, they may ask the office of Gov. Imee Marcos to shoulder the deficit. (EDG)
