Undas in Laoag peaceful–Quiocho

PLt. Col. Amador Quiocho, the city police chief, reported that this year’s observance of Undas (All Saints Day/All Souls Day) in Laoag City was generally peaceful.

He said that despite the huge number of people that flocked to the different cemeteries all over the city to pay respects to their dearly departed loved ones, no major untoward incidents were reported.

Lt. Col. Quiocho attributed the peaceful and orderly situation to the community for their cooperation and advance preparations to ensure safety of motorists, commuters and the public.

He further said that all Laoag City PNP personnel together with the MASCOBADO, BPATs, Riders and other volunteer groups were deployed as Road Safety Marshalls.

They were also posted on duty at the Police Assistance Desks established along major thoroughfares leading to different cemeteries.

Personnel from the City Health Office, BFP and CDRRMC were also deployed to extend assistance during the said activity.

He added that police personnel were also deployed in public places such as churches, malls and transport terminals. (Laoag PNP)
