Two suicide incidents mar pre-Christmas Day

CAMP JUAN, Laoag City, Dec. 24, 2020–The Ilocos Norte Police Office headed by police provincial director P/Col. Christopher Abrahano recorded two suicide incidents in this province, one day before Christmas Day.

Based on spot reports reaching the INPPO located at this camp, the twin suicide incidents happened in the towns of Banna and Bacarra.

P/Captain Norman Pentang, the Banna police chief, said a 45-year-oldwoman of Brgy. Valdez of Banna town allegedly committed suicide due to severe depression apparently caused by her sickness.

Her body was found by relatives hanging in a Damortis tree on December 23, 2020.

On the other hand, P/Captain Dionisio Baldillo, the Bacarra police chief, said a farmer, 51, of Bacarra town allegedly killed himself due to family problems and depression.
