Two councilors settle their feud

After the brawl, a “kiss and forgive” scenario

All is well that ends well for the two city councilors of Laoag who engaged in a recent fistfight in front of the City Hall.

After their regular session on Feb. 5, 2020, members of the city council presided by Vice Mayor Vicentito “Toto” Lazo witnessed the “amicable settlement” of the two councilors involved in the recent brawl.

Both shook hands, smiled at each other and one even smacked him when the crowd yelled: “kiss”.

It was a “kiss, forgive and forget” scenario, the City Hall media practitioners covering the SP session said.

Earlier, Lt. Col. Amador Quiocho, the city police chief, said he deployed PNP personnel in the vicinity of the city council session hall to maintain peace and order even without any formal request by the Sangguniang Panglungsod.

Uniformed cops, Colonel Quiocho said, were assigned in the SP area to make sure that no untoward incident would happen again referring to the recent brawl of the two SP members.

Meanwhile, lawyer Josephus Nerez, the city legal officer who was tasked to conduct a fact-finding investigation on the cause of the recent brawl incident, said he would submit the result to City Mayor Michael Marcos Keon who may disclose it to the public. (tri-media report)
