PINILI, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 27, 2020–A wayward motorcycle bumped and injured P/Major Joseph Taccad, the police chief, during the Oplan Sita in this town.
Investigators said Major Taccad suffered injuries in the body and a broken left leg.
The driver identified as Joffrey Gamponia, 35, a carpenter, of Brgy. Gabut Sur, Badoc, Ilocos Norte was also badly injured when his motorcycle crashed after hitting Major Taccad.
Both Major Taccad and Gamponia were hospitalized for treatment of their injuries.
Witnesses said Major Taccad and his men tried to flag down the driver for wearing no helmet during the Oplan Sita but the motorcycle didn’t stop until it bumped the police chief. (tri-media report)
