Young drivers comprised half of those involved in vehicular accidents in Region 1.
Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 1 Director Teofilo E. Guadiz III disclosed this information based mainly on the report made by the Pangasinan Provincial Office.
This is the reason, he said, that LTO region 1 is inviting all young drivers to attend road safety advocacy activities held in various provinces in the region.
He added that among those topics to be discussed are Lectures on Road Safety Awareness for the Youth, Basic Traffic Signs and Signals for Road Safety and Simple Motorcycle and Motor Vehicle Riding Safety
Just recently, he said, students from the Pangasinan State University, out-of-school youth, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), teachers and parents representing the different towns in the province had attended one of the events.
LTO personnel discussed the basic understanding of land transportation laws, rules and regulations, and introduced the attendees to driver’s licensing system. (IS)
