LAOAG CITY, May 18, 2020–A fisherman got a new lease of life after he survived a near sea tragedy.
Brgy. Capt. Adelboy Quinto of Caoacan village of this city said they rescued a certain Mark Gonzales who was washed ashore here aboard his ill-fated fishing boat.
Gonzales, who hails from Brgy. Gaang, Currimao, Ilocos Norte, narrated his brief ordeal in the high sea.
He said he went fishing on the night of May 17. At dawn, giant waves destroyed his fishing boat.
His strong will to survive kept him alert as he battled more huge waves until he reached the Caoacan shoreline here, he told the rescuers. (tri-media report)
