LAOAG CITY, Sept. 1, 2020–A Honda Civic car allegedly sideswiped a tricycle killing the latter’s driver during an accident at the intersection of Panganiban and D. Samonte streets, this city, a PNP report said.
P/Lt. Col. Rafael Lero, the city police chief, said the car accidentally hit the tricycle’s side wheel causing it to spin.
Due to the impact, the tricycle driver was thrown and landed on the ground, his head apparently hitting the concrete pavement.
A woman passenger of the tricycle was taken to the hospital to check her condition shortly after the accident.
The attending doctor later cleared her of any injury. However, to her surprise, it was during the checkup that she learned for the first time that she is pregnant.
The car driver also emerged unscathed. Police said the victim’s family and the car driver may settle the case amicably. (tri-media report)
