Athena Francine S. Guiang and sister Yriz Chloe S. Guiang, Grade 11 and Grade 6 students of Holy Spirit Academy of Laoag, respectively, shone in the recent Department of Education press conference held at the Laoag Central School.
Athena, 16, was adjudged first place in Editorial Writing and Chloe, 11, was chosen the second place in photojournalism.
Both will join the Laoag City delegation that will compete in the regional press conference to be held in Lingayen, Pangasinan this December.
The two sisters are the daughters of this paper’s publisher-editor Excel Guiang and associate publisher Theo Guiang.
