VINTAR, Ilocos Norte, May 10, 2021– A bicycle rider, 63, of Brgy. 8 Margaay, this town perished in a road accident here, traffic police said.
A PNP report identified the victim as Merlito Tunac who was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Investigators said that earlier the victim went swimming at the Bislac River to refresh himself from the summer heat.
On his way home northward, he rode his bicycle, and upon reaching a curve, a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction accidentally hit him.
The motorcycle driver and his wife, the back rider, were slightly hurt in the accident.
The victim’s bereaved family and the involved party had talked about the matter at the police station. (tri-media report)
