A fire at SN school bldg intentional or accidental?

SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, Feb. 1, 2020– Arson investigators under municipal fire marshall FSI Ronald Castillo are still probing the fire that partially burned a portion of the Filipinas West Elementary School building at Brgy. 7, this town.

A trace of used matchsticks was found near the fire scene, the report said.

The flame burned a plastic box and some valuables. It threatened to raze the whole school building but the joint effort of civilian volunteers in the neighborhood and the firefighters save the edifice from further damages.

School principal Vilma Bagay expressed gratitude to the civilian fire brigade and the BFP personnel for their quick response to the emergency call saying that their firefighting effort had spared their school building from total ruin. (tri-media report)
