SOLSONA, Ilocos Norte, Feb. 28, 2020–Dennis Rumbaoa, 38, married, a farmer, was hospitalized for treatment of a gunshot wound inflicted by a responding policeman.
A certain P/Staff Sergeant Mateo alleged that when he responded to pacify a family quarrel at Brgy. Nagpatpatan, this town, Rumbaoa allegedly tried to stab him, thus, he shot to neutralize the knife-wielder in self-defense.
Police charged him with direct assault before the Municipal Circuit Trial Court which later recommended a P36,000 bail for his temporary liberty. (tri-media report)
