BADOC, Ilocos Norte, July 2, 2020–Police operatives seized a hand grenade, Magnum .22 revolver with two live bullets, a short magazine for M-16 Armalite rifle with 19 live bullets during a search operation in a residence at Brgy. Alay, this town, a PNP report said.
P/Captain Joseph Tayaban, the town police chief, said the target of their court-issued search warrant includes M-16 Armalite rifle, Caliber .45 pistol, and ammunition.
He said they searched the place after they received reports that the house’s owner is a suspect of committing often indiscriminate firing of firearms in the neighborhood.
When interviewed by reporters, the suspect disowned the confiscated gun, explosive, and ammo saying he had never tried holding a gun in his life.
His grandfather corroborated with the suspect’s claim noting that his grandson came home for good from Hawaii maybe because he was naughty but surely, his boy doesn’t possess any firearm and explosive. (tri-media report)
