Prov’l gov’t beefs up tourism brand ad campaign

Following the official launching of Ilocos Norte’s new tourism pitch, the provincial government is turning its campaign more intensive to rally the province to get a larger share of the tourism market here and abroad.

According to Gov. Imee R. Marcos, negotiations to various promo ad service providers are on going to beef up the province’s new tourism brand ‘Paoay Kumakaway!.’

“Apart from the initial launching made in Metro Manila, we hope to close some more talks with different promo ad service providers for the publicity of the brand,” Marcos disclosed.

The governor revealed that more billboards and lightboxes of the tourism brand will be unveiled soon at the Skyway.

On March 8, the provincial government will hold a press conference at the Uncle Cheffy in Bonifacio Global City to answer scores of queries from various media outfits regarding the new tourism brand.

Meanwhile, the tourism office also sponsors an online promo for a free summer getaway ‘barkada’ package in Ilocos Norte.

The winner of the said promo along with five friends will get to experience two days and three nights touring the beautiful beaches and marvellous falls, taste sumptuous Ilocano food, and see awesome heritage sites and museums in Ilocos Norte inclusive of air tickets, hotel accommodations, full board meals, and tours and transfers.

According to tourism officer Mr. Ian Ree Raquel netizens may join the promo by simply logging in using their Facebook accounts, like the ‘Paoay Kumakaway!’ page, post a status why Ilocos Norte is the hottest destination this summer, and share the page on their profiles.

“The promo is open to all except residents of Ilocos Norte and the period of submitting/posting entries in the page will run until March 31,” Raquel said.

Last week, the provincial government officially launched ‘Paoay Kumakaway!’ in the National Capital Region by unveiling 62 billboards showcasing Ilocos Norte’s finest tourist destinations along the major thoroughfares of Metro Manila and at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) 1 and 2 routes.

The provincial tourism office also leased TV spot commercials on four NAIA screens at the east and west arrival concourse of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 and at the arrival concierge of Terminal 2.

The TV commercial of ‘Paoay Kumakaway!’ is also shown on Cinema One, TFC North America, Star Movies and Solar Sports in between movies, news and current affairs, and games from 7pm up to 11pm daily. (Florante A. Nicolas, PGIN- CMO)
