LAOAG CITY (July 9) – The local court here held in abeyance the issuance of bail for two arrested female suspects in bag slashing due to their questionable true identities.
Prosecutors doubted the identities of suspects Marissa Ramos and Janet Santos when the NSO certified that no such names from barangays Jordan and Pug-os, Sinait, Ilocos Sur appear in its record. The suspects were said to be lying on their identities and residence when both failed to state the names of their respective incumbent barangay captains.
Police said the suspects were nabbed when their alleged victim, Maribel Asuncion tagged the duo as the culprits who slashed her shoulder bag and stole her P28,000 cash while she went shopping inside a commercial store here. (JUN R. GUIANG)
