LAOAG CITY (Oct. 11) – The City Population Commission has reported that Laoag City is now populated by 105,000 inhabitants based on latest monitor. after concluding their latest monitor.
Ms. Felicitas Santiago, head of City POPCOM, said the city population had ballooned to over 100,000 due to migration and birth growth.
She said that many of these migrants are students who came from the various municipalities and neigboring provinces to study in the colleges and universities in the city.
The present number, she admitted, is still way below the requirement for a highly urbanized city, which the city officials are aiming for. (edg)
