CAMP JUAN, Laoag City, June 23– Heydays of guns-for-hire groups in Ilocos Norte are now numbered, police provincial director SSupt. Marlou Chan reported.
The groups are splintered and operated mostly in the province’s second district, Colonel Chan told newsmen.
“We want to clip them,” he said, ” to a very minimal number”
He added that many of those wanted fugitives were already arrested, jailed and charged in court.
Chan explained that under the PNP watchlist, several towns are believed to be the suspected lairs of these hired killers.
Local leaders in these towns should join the PNP anti-crime drive to help curb lawlessness in the province, he added.(excel guiang)
