Graduates told to plant trees

BATAC CITY (April 4) – In line with the city government’s campaign on preserving the environment, the city council has passed a resolution requiring all graduates from all levels of public schools in this city to plant trees.
Marlon Soria, city information officer, explained that under the said resolution, an elementary graduate must plant 10 trees, high school graduate must plant 20 trees while graduate from a vocational school must plant 30 trees.
He explained further that all seedlings will be provided by the city government. The principal or head from each school should coordinate with the local government, he added.
The resolution was authored by Councilor Bernardo Marders. (Theo S. Guiang)
