Gov reacts to a mauling incident

LAOAG CITY (Feb. 1) – Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos has expressed disgust over the alleged involvement of a son of a top politician in the province in a mauling incident here.

She told the local media that the alleged incident, if indeed true, is “embarrassing”, adding that it has been reported that this is not the first time the suspect is involved in such kind of incident.

Initial police report showed that the suspect, together with several young companions forcibly dragged the victim inside a Toyota Fortuner and brought him to a place where they allegedly mauled him.

Police identified the victim as Raffy John Corpuz, resident of Brgy. 1, of this city.

When the victim’s relatives sought help from the governor, it was learned that she distanced herself in the ongoing probe to avoid any suspicion of bias investigation.

She, however, assured the family  that she is ready to extend assistance to the victim in his pursuit for justice. (Theo S. Guiang)
