Fake Dentist Nabbed

BATAC CITY (Sept. 4) – Police operatives have apprehended a woman for an offense of alleged malpractice of dentistry during a sting raid at her boarding house at Brgy.Caunayan here. She did not resist arrest when an undercover agent posing as dental patient and aided by fellow lawmen pounced on her at the kitchen, where she held improvised clinic. A cash marked money as “payment for denture” of the disguised cop was seized from her possession.

Investigators said that the fake dentist, who hails from Manila but now permanently residing in Batac, had been under police surveillance for sometime after officers and members of the Philippine Dental Association Ilocos Norte-Laoag City chapter led by their president Dr. Noel Eclipse had tipped off to the police station about the suspect’s illegal activities. Probers said the suspect had finished dentistry in Manila but did not pass the board exams, hence, she was not licensed to practice the dental profession. During a confrontation with the complainants from the dental association, the suspect knelt in front of them and begged for forgiveness but the complainants ignored her pleas. They vowed to pursue the criminal charges to give her a lesson. (EDG)
