DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte, May 2 – Several leaflets bearing death threats against Dingras vice mayor Erjo Valenzuela and town councilor Ruben Marcos were scattered in the concrete pavement here, cops said.
The leaflets were found in front of Valenzuela’s drug store as the body of slain councilor Randy Magno was taken to the town hall for public viewing.
Magno was gunned down earlier in Brgy. Pariir, Sarrat town by suspected hired killers. When asked by newsmen, Valenzuela said the leaflets’ content had warned him to quit his post.
“My town mates gave me the mandate, hence, I must serve my people and not to quit,” he said noting that threat was serious.
