LAOAG CITY, March 10 – A moderate quake with a magnitude of 5.2 hit the Ilocos province early Thursday, the Philippine Instituteof Volcanology and Siesmology (Phivolcs) said.
Ernesto Agnir, Sr. Sience Researcher of Philvocs in Pasuquin town, said that the tectonic quake hit 101 kilometers northeast of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte at 1:57 am. Intensity 2 was felt in the city of Laoag and the towns of Pasuquin and Sarrat in Ilocos Norte.
Agnir said that no damages or injuries were reported from the quake but Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks. (Cristina Arzadon)
