2,400 patients served by new Laoag hospital

LAOAG CITY, Aug. 12 — The newly-opened P350 million Laoag City General Hospital has served at least 2,400 in-and-out patients since it started “soft operation” last July 8, it was reported by Dr. Juanito Rubio, chief executive officer of the hospital.

In a Mayor’s staff meeting held on August 4, Dr. Rubio said that of 312 in-patients, 91 of them were dengue victims. Those out-patients had undergone medical check-ups and other medical services.

The 5-story hospital building has 120-bed capacity and manned by more than 150 medical and administrative personnel.

City Mayor Michael V. Farinas said the ultimate goal of the hospital is to provide cheaper medical care and services not only to Laoageneos and Norteneans but also those patients from neighboring cities and provinces. (PIA Ilocos Norte)
