Truckload medical donations pour in

*All comes from the Office of Civil Defense to be used by anti-COVID frontliners in Ilocos Norte

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), through the Provincial Resiliency Office, has received from the Office of the Civil Defense more health-related donations which will be distributed to medical frontliners in government hospitals, institutional workers, and isolation facilities in the province.

The truckload donations delivered on Friday, May 7 include 1,200 KN95 masks, 1,000 boxes (50 pcs. per box) of surgical facemasks, 1,000 boxes (50 pcs. per box) of medical gloves, 1,200 medical shoe covers, head covers, face shields, and disposable surgical gowns, and 1,000 gallons of alcohol.

The donations also contained 25 bedside tables, some 200 rechargeable emergency lights, 200 modular tents with one bed, foam mattress, bed sheet, pillow, chair, table, and electric fan, all for hospitals or facilities use.

“Previously, nag-donate na rin ang OCD ng generator sets, electric fans, and PPEs. Bukod dito, OCD has been providing the salaries of nine institutional workers in isolation facilities, as well as giving free meals, snacks, and drinking water for COVID-19 patients and medical frontliners since April this year, up to the present,” Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management officer Marcell N. Tabije stated.

Tabije said the Provincial Government remains proactive in addressing the needs of medical and other frontline workers in the province amid the COVID-19 pandemic. – (Stewart C. Ocampo, PGIN-CMO)
