PINILI, Ilocos Norte, April 20, 2021—A 71-year-old stroke victim was allegedly hacked and injured by his suspected drunk nephew at Brgy. Salanap, this town, lawmen reported.
Investigators said the defenseless old man absorbed bolo blows in the head and neck.
Rescuers rushed the victim to the hospital for treatment, together with his daughter who was also slashed in her right leg by the suspect while she was attending to her father.
Police said the suspect first attacked the girl who managed to elude fatal hacking and then he vented his ire on the uncle who was seated weak and defenseless.
Investigators surmised that a land dispute probably drove the suspect to commit the attack. (tri-media report)
