PIDDIG, Ilocos Norte–Ligaya Hermano y Ariola, 43, married, allegedly drowned off the river at Brgy. Sta. Maria, this town, a belated May 22 police report said.
Investigators said the victim from Brgy. Bubuos, Solsona town went to the river here to gather shellfish locally called “Tokmem” when she accidentally drowned at the deep portion of the water.
Rescuers rushed the victim to the Piddig District Hospital but the attending doctor pronounced her dead on arrival. (tri-media report)
