Piddig hospital uses convent for patients

Dr. Estela Rivera of the Piddig (Ilocos Norte) district hospital said their building is under renovation prompting them to use a vacated convent as a temporary place for patients.

She said the government hospital renovation work was started last July this year but the allocated fund for the project did not include the putting up of a temporary shelter for affected patients.

Through the generous help of the church, we are allowed to temporarily use the convent for our patients, she said.

She allayed public fear of health hazards saying that the convent is an open area, hence, there would be no congestion and no spread of any contagious disease. (tri-media report)
