Rowena Nicolas, a staff nurse of the City Health Office, has disclosed that they have recorded at least 19 suspected HIV cases in Laoag City but the alleged victims’ names were kept strictly confidential.
Ms. Nicolas, who is in charge of HIV symposia, said the cases were sent to the DOH regional office for confirmation of their findings.
She urged any concerned persons who may have been afflicted by HIV to undergo the virus test by CHO assuring them that their identities would be kept strictly confidential to protect their reputation.
It was learned through well-publicized DOH statements that government hospitals offer free treatment of HIV-AIDS patients. (tri-media report)
