I.N. vax blitz surpasses DOH’s target goal

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) has vaccinated a total of 140,658 or 63.9% of its 219,989 eligible population for COVID-19 jabs, as of August 15, based on the report of the Department of Health (DOH) Region I.

The province’s inoculation feat exceeded the DOH’s 50%-60% vaccination target goal, originally set at 70% but was eventually revised due to the tight supply of vaccines globally.

Specifically, as part of the “Tutok A2” vaccination strategy of DOH, 51,577 individuals from the A2 group have received at least one dose of COVID-19 jab. A total of 26,186 senior citizens were fully vaccinated.

Here’s the other score on vax recipients: 38,181 from A1 group, including the Expanded A1 group composed of immediate family members of healthcare workers, overseas Filipino workers, and employees of isolation and quarantine hotel; 37,078 from A3 group, and 13,822 from the A4 group.

As of this writing, 68,567 individuals from categories A1 to A4 have been fully vaccinated.

The Provincial Government, through its Provincial Health Office, has recently received 7,490 doses of Moderna vaccines and 4,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from DOH Region I, ready to be rolled-out to different LGUs in the province.
