COVID infects two Capitol employees

LAOAG CITY, August 2- – Two employees of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte were tested positive of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc.

Based on the governor’s statement, patients IN-C27 and IN-C30, both residents of Laoag City, are working as frontliners in the province’s anti-COVID-19 drive.

The first infected PGIN employee tagged as IN-C27 is a 46 year-old male and a resident of Brgy. Raraburan, this city.

He had exposure to a locally stranded individual who traveled to Parañaque and returned home to Brgy. Suba, Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

He is currently admitted to a provincial isolation facility and in stable condition.

On the other hand, the second infected PGIN employee referred to as patient IN-C30 is a 43-year-old male of Barangay 5, this city.

He had exposure to the patient IN-C27 of Brgy. Raraburan.

IN-C27 is asymptomatic while the IN-C30 is symptomatic and is currently admitted in a government hospital.

“Contact tracing is being conducted by the provincial and local governments, and the Department of Health to mitigate further transmission of the disease,” Laoag City Mayor Michael Marcos Keon said. (tri-media report)
