CEO’S P80-K scrap iron sold to a junkshop under probe

LAOAG CITY, Dec. 19, 2019–Police investigation is underway on the controversial sale of P80,000-worth scrap iron including unserviceable spare parts of motor vehicles of the City Engineering Office here, a ranking PNP official said.

P/Lt. Col. Amador Quiocho, the city police chief, said the controversy cropped up after the city government-owned scrap property was sold to a private junkshop.

He said investigators were coordinating with the CEO officials to get the formal affidavit of the concerned parties as part of the ongoing probe.

As this developed, the junk shop confirmed that a woman sold the said items to them on the allegation the seller had talked with the local government.

Any parties involved in this controversy may be charged with malversation of public property, Colonel Quiocho said. (tri-media report)
