Gun-for-hire suspect shot dead

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, San Fernando City, La Union – A gun-for-hire personality who is allegedly one of the suspects in the killing of Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) Board President, Director Rey Ruiz on September 4, 2009, was killed by still unidentified suspects today, August 16, 2018, 1:05 in the afternoon in Brgy. Saud, Badoc, Ilocos Norte.

Based on the initial investigation conducted, the victim was onboard a black motorcycle Motopost bearing plate no. 6020 when he was chased and shot several times by unidentified male persons on board a red sedan with no available plate number. Suspects fled to unknown direction bringing along with them the firearm used.

The victim sustained gunshot wound in his body and was rushed at Sto. Cristo Milagroso Hospital, Sinait, Ilocos Sur but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, Dr. Ivy Dello.

PCSupt Romulo E Sapitula, PRO1 Regional Director elaborated that the victim was also involved in illegal drug activities in Badoc, Ilocos Norte and a well-known gun-for-hire personality allegedly hired by some politicians in Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.

No recovered fired cartridge cases were recovered in the crime scene. The motorcycle of the victim was placed under the custody of Badoc MPS for proper disposition.

PCSupt Sapitula ordered the conduct of man hunt operation for possible identification and arrest of suspects. Further, he instructed the Chief of Police, Badoc MPS to maximize their efforts in the immediate solution of the case (Credits to PRO1-PIO)
