Councilman survives 4th slay attempt

BADOC, Ilocos Norte, Nov. 6–A barangay councilman of this town was attacked by gunmen riding in tandem but luckily all bullets fired at him missed him, lawmen reported.

Chief Inspector Arnel Tabaog, police chief, said it was the 4th time that the kagawad survived the assassination attempt on his life, the first try happened in 1999.

Investigators said that in the latest incident, the councilman, who standing in front of his house, quickly sought cover when he saw one of the gunmen drawing a gun.

All bullets fired by the suspects missed their targetted victim prompting the assassins to flee in vain, the report said.

Various angles were being looked into to determine the motive of the 4th slay try against the village officer. (tri-media report)
