An 80-year-old man, who was suffering from cancer of the throat, stage 4, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at Brgy. Sta. Maria, Piddig, Ilocos Norte, police reported on Sept. 20, 2020.
Relatives told investigators that they found the victim hanging with a rope looped around his neck inside their comfort room.
Rescuers rushed him to the Piddig district hospital where RHU officer Dr. Estelita Rivera declared the victim dead on arrival.
Police ruled out foul play in the incident. (tri-media report)
