BANGUED, Abra — More than 300 kilos of dried marijuana leaves and stalks worth P13.75 million were discovered by police authorities in the mountains of Sitio Tableo, Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet.
Chief Superintendent Isagani Nerez, Cordillera region’s police director, said that the marijuana leaves and stalks were allegedly abandoned in a makeshift hut in the area.
Nerez added that the police are investigating who is responsible in this marijuana production in the area.
It was learned that the majority of the marijuana was later burnt on site while several kilos of samples were brought to the station for documentation.
The successful operation was part of the Cordillera police’s aggressive and intensified campaign against illegal drugs. (tsg)
