Tourists take a closer look at the art installation by Leeroy New at the sand dunes of Paoay during the “Himala sa Buhangin!” music and arts fest last May 10. The massive structure is made entirely of bamboo and abaca rope and is inspired by the ship that brought the statue of La Virgen Milagrosa to Ilocos Norte in the 17th century. La Milagrosa is the patroness of the province of Ilocos Norte and is now widely celebrated in the first provincial fiesta held May 2-14.
