100 folks “to get P1M each” return home empty-handed

PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, Dec. 21– Some 100 coastal villagers here were disgusted as they returned home empty-handed from Manila where they were promised to get P1 million each from the alleged “Marcos wealth”, a barangay official said.

Brgy. Chairman George Ragonjan of Caruan, this town confirmed the sad experience of his barangay mates who came home in disgust.

A report said the folks hurriedly left earlier for Manila believing an organizer’s promise that they were the chosen recipients of P1 million each from the alleged Marcos fortune.

Several eastern folks in Marcos town were also recent victims of similar deception in which the suspects collected fees and promised give-away money from the Marcos wealth, it added. (tri-media report)
