LAOAG CITY — Consumers of this province were assured of enough rice supply, Veralow DG. De Vera, NFA’s assistant provincial manager said.
It will be distributed during the lean periods especially when the ill-effect of El Niño phenomenon is being experienced, he said.
He revealed that the agency’s warehouses located in Dingras and in Laoag City have a combined total of more than 70,000 bags of local and imported rice stocks.
De Vera added that they are expecting another 10,000 bags of imported rice to be delivered to the province this month.
He further added that NFA rice sold in the public markets in the province costs Php27.00 per kilogram for the regular milled rice; and Php32.00 per kilogram for the well-milled rice. (tsg)
