MARCOS , Ilocos Norte (July 26) – It was supposed to be a leisurely day for Glenda Joy Abrigo as she rode on a borrowed bicycle.
Being a rookie bicycle rider, Glenda, 19, a resident of Brgy. Ver., of this town, enjoyed negotiating the downhilll road. However, in the course of her excitement, her bike brake malfunctioned. As she panicked, she used foot brake which caused her to fall into the concrete pavement.
Rescuers rushed her to nearby Marcos District Hospital. Due to severe head injuries, she was transferred to Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital in Batac City where she expired.
Police Chief Sr Insp Adriano Licudan said Glenda, a student of Marcos Agro-Industrial School, was a victim of road self-accident.(Theo S. Guiang)
