SP approves PGIN’s P2.3B budget for 2018

*Earmarks P595M for agri, P577M for infra, P484M for health

LAOAG CITY — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan presided by Vice Governor Angelo Marcos Barba has approved the proposed P2.3 billion Annual Budget for 2018 of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN).

For the continuous development of the province, the PGIN allotted more than Php2.3B in the Proposed Annual Budget for next year.

The Budget record showed that more than Php595 million fund was alloted to agriculture for further research and development including agricultural infrastructures ; and also over Php577 million for the infrastructure sector to rebuild historic landscapes as well as to provide better rural access road and bridges.

Over Php484 million goes to medical services.

Vice Governor Barba said that they thoroughly scrutinized the proposed budget of the PGIN different offices during budget hearings of SP last week and early this week.

He said that through the help of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation, the approved budget of the PGIN is in accordance with previously issued Budget Circulars.

The respective department heads and representatives of various offices presented their yearly activities, programs and projects which were funded together with their Personal Services and Capital Outlays.(Source: Office of the Vice Govenor)
