PRC service center opens at Robinsons Ilocos

  • A boon to all professionals

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), together with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte-Public Employment Service Office (PGIN-PESO), has inaugurated the PRC Offsite Service Center on February 6, at the Robinsons Mall in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

Since 2015, the PGIN-PESO has been partnering with the PRC for monthly mobile outreaches, paving the way for over 10,000 professional licenses to be given in Ilocos Norte. In 2017 alone, mobile outreaches serviced more than 15,000 professionals.

The PRC Mobile Outreach was part of Governor Imee Marcos’ “Manang Imee=Trabaho” campaign, which aimed to address the problem of local unemployment and the migration of professionals abroad.

Senior Provincial Board Member Matthew Marcos Manotoc, representing the Governor at the inauguration rites, said: “I’m sure na malaking tulong ito sa mga professionals in Ilocos and maybe now when Ilocanos see this office, they’ll be inspired to become professionals as well.”

On the first day of official work, the Center went into full swing, offering applications for various examinations, registration of licenses, renewal of professional ID cards, and certification or authentication of licenses and other documents.

Also present at the formal opening rites were PRC Commissioner Jose Cuerto Jr., San Nicolas town Mayor Dr. Alfredo Valdez Jr., and Mr. Ervin Wu of Robinsons Mall.

“This is one way of decongesting our central and regional offices. We are trying to improve everything and this establishment of service centers will really go a long way in improving our services,” Cuerto said. (pgin-cmo)
